Our Beliefs
The Bible is the word of God
The Bible is the inspired Word of God through which he revealed his Will. The new covenant recorded in the New Testament is the highest authority for christian living and teaching (II Timothy 3,14-16; I Thessalonians 2,13; I Peter 1, 23-25; II Peter 1,21)
The Trinity
There is only one true God, entirely and eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1,1; Matthew 28, 19)
The divinity of Jesus Christ
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal son of God, the second person of the Trinity. He became human. He was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for the atonement of all mankind. He rose from the dead and ascended to heaven where he is seated at the right hand of the Father as our high priest, intercessor and Lord. (Matthew 1,23; John 1;1+14; Isaiah 9,5-6)
Salvation through faith
We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration and sanctification, and that the believer is also promised an enduement of power as the gift of Christ through the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following. Through this enduement, the believer is empowered for fuller participation in the ministry of the Church, its worship, evangelism and service.
Rebirth in Christ
Spiritual regeneration (rebirth) through the Holy Spirit is essential for personal salvation (John 3,3-5; II Corinthians 5,17)
Eternal Judgement
The saved will be resurrected to eternal life. The lost will be resurrected to eternal condemnation in the lake of fire (Revelation 19,20; 20,11-15; Hebrews 9,25-28)
The Church
All believing Christians who are born of the Spirit (see rebirth in Christ) are part of the church. This is independent of their denominational background or membership. Through the new birth all who believe in Christ are united in one body where each one fulfills their essential role. (Ephesians 1,22-23; Hebrews 12,23)
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
According to Acts 2,4 the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an experience separate from the new birth. Every believer has a right to it. It equips them with the necessary godly power for their life and ministry. One of the biblical aftereffects of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is the speaking in tongues. (Acts 1,8, 2,4; 2,38-39; 19,1-7; Matthew 3,11; John 14,16-17)
Righteousness through Faith
As born-again Christians we are cleansed of all sin by the blood of Jesus Christ and declared the righteousness of God. We can now stand before God without guilt or inferiority but with reverence and candor. (II Corinthians 5,21; Ephesians 4,24; Hebrews 4,16; I John 1,7-9)
The authority of the believer
As born-again Christians we are cleansed of all sin by the blood of Jesus Christ and declared the righteousness of God. We can now stand before God without guilt or inferiority but with reverence and candor. (II Corinthians 5,21; Ephesians 4,24; Hebrews 4,16; I John 1,7-9)
God’s will for provision
It is God’s will that the whole person – spirit, soul and body – is blessed. Jesus Christ has redeemed humanity from poverty, sickness and sin. (This fact does not exempt us from trials and temptations) (Matthew.6,33; John.10,10; Romans.8,32; Galatians.3,13; Ephesians.1,3; Phillipians.4,19; IPeter.2,24; III John 2.)
Biblical Faith
We can receive the promises of God through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ by the grace of God through our personal faith. (Mark 11,24; John 15,7; II Corinthians.1,20; I John 5,14-15)
